Monica Goyal
Director of Legal Innovation
Monica Goyal is also the Director of Legal Innovation for Caravel Law. In her role as Director of Legal Innovation, she evaluates new technologies and implementation within the firm. She has overseen the implementation of their internal contract and document automation system, design and implementation of their client onboarding process, and the implementation of our corporate services solutions. She is a part-time lecturer at the TMU Lincoln Alexander Law School where she teaches Critical Approaches to Data, Algorithm, and Science in the Law. Monica was formerly an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School, and the Institute of Future of Law Practice. Monica has a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Waterloo, as well as a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. She began her career working for major telecommunications companies such as Toshiba, Nokia, and Nortel, before earning her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Toronto Faculty of Law.
In 2023 Caravel Law was Excellence Awardee for LexisNexis Canada Award for Best Use of Technology In a Law Firm, and this year Monica was nominated for Canadian Lawyer most influential lawyer in the changemaker category. She has been named as one of the 10 Women to Watch in Tech in the Journal of the American Bar Association and has won a 2017 Fastcase 50 Award.
Erika Misasi
Misasi Legal serves and supports artists, content creators, athletes, businesses and organizations across Ontario and is founded through hands-on experience in the arts, business and technology. Principal Lawyer, Erika Misasi practices Entertainment, Sports, Intellectual Property and Business Law with a focus on the intersection between the arts, sports and technology. Erika brings hands-on experience to her Entertainment clients gained through her education in the arts, including dance, theatre and music, prior to receiving her Juris Doctor, and her continued focus on Entertainment Law, industry involvement, as well as her expertise in general corporate and intellectual property matters. Her knowledge of the industry and passion for the arts informs her practical and pragmatic approach when applying the law and addressing her clients’ needs. Erika provides various contracting services and advice for artists, musicians, brands, creatives and industry adjacent organizations throughout all stages of growth. She assists clients with navigating contract negotiations and provides them with the tools to handle their legal and business needs.
Misasi Legal
Amir is a member of the Toronto Blue Jays legal team. He provides strategic business advice to the organization on a broad range of matters, including as it relates to sponsorship agreements, technology agreements and special initiatives. Prior to this role, he practiced as an associate lawyer at Wildeboer Dellelce LLP, where he advised clients in the sports, entertainment & technology industries. Amir graduated from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law in 2016.

Kathleen is internationally educated and trained in the art, technology, and legal worlds. At ClearyX, she holds the position of Senior Director, Marketing and Business Development where she is responsible for developing and implementing strategic marketing and business development plans to drive growth. Additionally, Kathleen works to identify new business opportunities, build and maintain relationships with potential clients and partners, and analyze market trends and competitors.
Kathleen's professional legal experience includes working in private practice and for one of the first AI start-ups in the legal tech space. Most recently, she was at a leading global legal technology service provider, where she influenced product strategy and led cross-functional teams to develop cutting-edge legal technology. Kathleen strongly believes that legal technology should be taught during a student's time at law school and continues to lecture pro bono at law schools globally.
Kathleen serves on the board of the St. Michael’s Hospital – Young Leaders Division. Kathleen's goal is to develop strategic relationships while applying a growth mindset to creatively translate customer problems into solutions. She is an enthusiastic leader who strives to achieve results, inspire collaboration, and shape ClearyX’s strategy and direction.

Tiffany is a dual-qualified lawyer in Ontario and New York. She is a practicing construction and commercial litigator in Toronto for a global law firm.
Originally born and raised in Canada, Tiffany moved to the United Kingdom in 2016 where she worked in corporate risk and studied at The City Law School (City, University of London). In 2019, she moved back to North America to pursue her LL.M. at the New York University School of Law in New York City and the Ontario Bar.
In addition to her practice, Tiffany is the Director of Strategic and International Relations at NCA Tutor – an education company dedicated to helping other internationally trained law students and lawyers navigate the NCA Exams and Canadian licensing process. Tiffany also teaches private students and guest lectures at UK Universities.

Michelle is a lawyer at the Department of Justice, Canada, and she works in the Toronto office. She was recently called to the Ontario bar in 2023. She graduated from the Canadian American Dual J.D. program at the University of Windsor, Faculty of Law, and the University of Detroit Mercy, School of Law. Throughout law school, Michelle was actively involved in the Law Review, as an Editor, and competed in moot competitions. These extra curriculars motivated her to pursue a career in civil litigation, so that she can regularly appear before the Court. She is also interested in public international law, national security law, and immigration law. During her free time, Michelle enjoys traveling and spending time with her family.

Kristy McLaren is the owner of Clearly Legal, a freelance law clerking service which provides support to lawyers in Canada and mentoring of the Ontario system to students, junior staff and legal professionals new to Canada.
Kristy is a certified law clerk through ILCO (the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario) and a paralegal licensed through the LSO (the Law Society of Ontario). By way of her paralegal license, Kristy is a commissioner of oaths (and by the time of this event, may also be a Notary Public).
Kristy has spent her 20 + year career focusing on all thingslitigation, and how to keep disputes and questions out of litigation. From personal injury to corporate commercial to media and entertainment, Kristy has almost “seen it all”.

Tiana Corovic is an associate at Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP with a practice focused on privacy, technology, and data protection. She assists clients with complying with Canada’s privacy and anti-spam legislation, responding to privacy complaints and regulatory inquiries, risk management strategies involving data and technology, responding to local and international cybersecurity incidents, and corporate mergers and acquisitions, with respect to IT, privacy and various other technology aspects.
